SanAir Activates Special Services For Northeastern Storm Needs

RICHMOND, Va., June 11, 2012— SanAir Technologies Laboratory, a national environmental testing company, announced today that its Northeastern Services Corridor is open and activated even as tropical storm Sandy continues to wreak havoc throughout the region.

“We provide accredited analytical analysis of hazardous materials – a serious need following major storms,” said SanAir President Sean McGlynn. “Prior to the storm we made arrangements to deliver fast analysis and reporting in these situations,” he said.

“Since our establishment in 2003 in Virginia, we have worked through several tropical storms and hurricanes along the mid-Atlantic,” McGlynn said. “We know these storms unleash a number of environmental hazards which can endanger the general public, in addition to their obvious physical destruction,” McGlynn said.

Based in suburban Richmond, SanAir activated its Northeastern Corridor last spring to provide expedited environmental testing from Virginia to Maine – a region housing more than a third of the country’s population. That development follows previously announced approvals for nationwide asbestos testing, and expansion of the company’s national industrial hygiene testing program through accreditation for lead testing by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

SanAir has become nationally recognized for its focus on identifying potentially harmful pathogens and hazardous materials in public venues such as hospitals, shopping malls and schools. Its primary clientele is industrial hygienists, engineers, governments and restoration and remediation contractors.

SanAir is based in Oakbridge Industrial Park in Powhatan County, Virginia near the new Watkins Center development, a major component in Richmond’s rapid multi-use business growth. From modest beginnings, the company has grown to be a full-service national laboratory offering analytical and consulting services specialized in asbestos, bacterial detection and identification, environmental microbiology, environmental lead and metals, Legionella, and materials testing.
