Lead & Metals

FLAAS | FIMS | ICP-OES

SanAir tests metals in dust wipes, paint chips, soil, and bulk and air samples for the presence of toxic heavy metals by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FLAAS) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES).

SanAir offers various analytical testing methods designed to meet our clients’ needs for accuracy and reliability while complying with federal and state requirements. Our services include:

  • Total Concentration of Lead
  • TCLP for Lead
  • Total Suspended Particulate Lead Matter in the Atmosphere
  • Total Concentration of RCRA 8 Metals
  • TCLP for RCRA 8 Metals
  • Total Concentration of Mercury in soil, paint, air particulates, and vapor
  • Total Concentration of Metals

We are a participant in the Environmental Lead Proficiency Analytical Testing program, ensuring that our testing gives clients accurate results using the most efficient methods allowable.

Health Impacts

Toxic heavy metals present neurological and developmental dangers and can lead to organ failure and increased cancer risk. Lead is the most frequently encountered toxic metal in remediation due to its presence in paint in pre-1978 homes and workplaces, as well as in pipes.
